Hi TVLL Families,
We received some encouraging news from the state of California this week. It was announced that low contact youth sports, such as baseball, may proceed through social distancing even in our current Purple Tier; with games being allowed once Contra Costa County goes back to the Red Tier. We wish we could move ahead as normal, but at least we know that baseball is now officially on it's way.
Even with this positive news, due to the current surge in COVID cases, we have decided to move in a bit of a different direction to start baseball activities. We will be delaying the start of the 2021 season and instead will begin with a Spring Training Practice Program that provides kids the opportunity to ease their way back onto the field. For many, it'll be 10 full months since they last played baseball. We feel this is the best and safest way for kids to get back out there.
Here are the details:
- Stable groups - no more than 14 kids
- Cohorts will be determined by age, school and/or division
- Parent volunteer coaches
- One or two practices each week at Sycamore Park. May include time in the batting cages.
- Focus will be on player development
- COVID safety protocols will be strictly enforced
- We will begin January 30
This is a chance for your kids to have fun, build skills and get ready for the eventual start of the season later in the Spring.
Cost is $100.
