Umpire Information
Welcome to the 2012 Season of TVLL Little League umpiring!
We are looking for Umpires for the upcoming season. You must be at
least 13 years old by March 1st and willing to commit to training
classes for rules and mechanics (3 separate clinics for 1st year
umpires)
All returning and new umpires must fill out an application and a medical release form. There are instructions on the form to send back to us.

The training schedule for Umpires follows and is mandatory for the umpires intended for that training:
Thursday February 9th, Sycamore MPR - 7:00-9:00PM- All First year umpires- rules training
Saturday February 11th, Sycamore Fields #2 & #3 - 8:00am to 12:00pm - All Umpires- Mechanics training
Monday February 13th, Sycamore MPR - 7:00-9:00PM - All First and 2nd year umpires-rules training
Wednesday February 22nd, Location & Time TBA- Umpires and Coaches meeting/clinic

Q. How do I contact the TVLL Umpire-in-Chief?

Q. What are the requirements to be an umpire?
You must be 13 years old by March 1st, 2012 in order to umpire. You
must also attend mandatory training, dress appropriately and be
motivated.
Q. Do umpires get paid?
Yes! Depending on level of play that you are umpiring and whether you
are a base umpire or the home plate umpire the pay per game varies.
Q. When and where are games played?
Monday to Friday games are played between 4:30 and 9:00pm. Saturday
games take place from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00pm. Games are held at the TVLL
fields at Sycamore Park, Diablo Vista school and park and Blackhawk
fields.
Q. Is training provided to new umpires?
Yes! 2 clinics for new umpires are mandatory to attend. A mechanics
clinic for all umpires is conducted as well. Attendance is mandatory at
this clinic as well.
Q. Can I umpire for TVLL if I live outside the League boundaries?
Yes.
Q. Can I umpire for other leagues and organizations also?
Yes.
Q. What is the required uniform and is it provided for me?
?The protective gear for umpires is provided.(Mask, Shin guards, Chest
protector). A T-Shirt or shirt will be provided to new umpires and
should be worn with Navy Blue/Dark pants . Uniform and dress code will
be further discussed at our training clinics. ?Indicators and plate
brushes are located at each field. Many umpires decide to get their own
protective equipment as they progress in their umpire career.

Q. When is the playing season?
The playing season is from March 1 and goes into June. Post-season
tournaments are in June and July. The Little League World Series is in
August.
